This is Spring Break and what better time for a teacher or student to learn her own Brother machine. This class is specifically designed to investigate the features of the Brother QC1000, NV1500D, NV2500D, NV2800D, NV4000D, NV4500D, NV6000D. These are 7 mm machines with wide decorative stitches and directional feed stitches. The 6 projects can be used to make a jacket, tote, vest or wall hanging.
Register early as space is limited.
Learn to do wedge swirls, piping, bargello, ruching, couched threads, applique highlights, pintuck panels, and twisted two color tucks. Directional feed decorative stitches will be used in selected areas. If you have embroidery or quilting blocks that you wish to work into the project– bring those also.
Supplies needed
Machine and all accessories, presser feet including a pin tucking foot, foot control, power cord
Collect a group of 8-10 fabrics (1/4 yard), blocks, unused embroidery designs,and ideas that would make about 3-4 yards worth of stuff. You could bring a 1/2 yard of your favorite fabric.
Bring fabric for the lining of the jacket: 3/4 yard for the back, 3/4 yard for the fronts, 2/3 yard for the sleeves. This can be one piece or 3 different coordinating prints. A few patterns will be available to use. You can try on the jackets to see if you like them.
Pattern tracing material if you need to size up or down from my group. Make sure you have the Gridded type about 2 yards of 45" wide
Thread for the project to match the fabric. Bring some decorative threads to quilt with- whatever you normally use or variegated if you don't know what to use.
Scissors, pins, small rotary cutting set for comfort- we have travel packs
There will probably be some things that you will bring the second day like 1/2" or 3/4" bias tape maker, fast turn tube maker,
Open to everyone, non Brother owners welcome. Beginners welcome. Each program will highlight a
different sewing techniques, different sewing tools, and a different project kit. Bring the kit back completed and the next one is FREE.

Projects for the first few months are: Applique to be used with a re-cycled tote bag, Sewing Machine cover with “your” decorative stitches, light Sweatshirt Jacket with open front & decorative front panel, casserole carrier

Class Registration Policy
Payment is due at registration. After registering, make sure you receive a class confirmation form and supply sheet. Supplies & fabric are extra unless stated. Babies, family members or friends are not permitted in class.
Refund policy
In the event that a class must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, individuals who registered for that class will be notified and a full refund will be mailed. Should a student cancel a class, refunds are available if requested ONE WEEK BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS. There will be a $5.00 administrative fee applied to each class fee. No refunds can be given once a class or club has begun, no refunds will be given on kit fees
THERE IS NO REFUND ON CLASSES WITH NATIONAL TEACHERS. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN GIVE YOUR SPACE TO SOMEONE ELSE. PLEASE CALL US IF THIS HAPPENS SO THAT WE CAN MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT TO THE ROLL FOR CLASS.
